Doesn’t it sound grand? It’s a great plan,
Don’t be afraid, just take my hand,

II. The Ledge
Welcome in, I knew you’d come,
Now there’s no way out until the work is done,
Was it too much to stay above?
Did pain and suffering overtake the love?
It’s okay, walk with me around the edge,
And you’ll be always safe upon this ledge,
When you are full of despair,
Just jump right in, no one will care,
Stay on the ledge through thick and thin,
And healing yourself won’t have to begin,

Collecting all of your painful tears,

III. The Return
Oh your grace, I do so feel,
But most of the time it doesn’t seem real,
I keep that connection through the cross,
But it’s not enough to keep me from being lost,
I know you’re yearning for a relationship with me,
But being out on the ledge, I could not see,
Thank you for shining through my darkest hour,
For me, just a glimpse of light gave me back my power,
I carry you with me through all my dreams,
You’re my connection to this world, it seems,
When I am awake or when I sleep,
The darkness comes for me to keep me weak,
But in the end, you’re always there,
Bringing light through all my despair,
“Where are you going? You can’t leave the ledge.”
I’m tired of this feeling, living on the edge,
I want the warmth from the sun,
Staying on the ledge, I’m ready to be done,
You have consumed me to no end,
This is our goodbye, my old friend,
The darkness that lingers and follows me still,
I will now run toward the light, it’s all I can do,
My feet were dangling on the edge,
But truth is,
I never truly loved the ledge.
